Motor Caravans Asked to Be More Considerate
Some drivers should be more courteous to other road usersThis year has seen a record number of motor caravans on the roads in Scotland and in particular on the Road to the Isles.
However many of these vehicles, particularly those driven by foreigners, are causing a hazard on the roads by either driving too slowly or driving in convoys that are difficult to overtake.
The Road to the Isles is a perfect destination for motor caravans because of the access it gives to remote and wild camping sites, but drivers are asked to be more thoughtful to other users of the road:
- If you want to go slowly to appreciate the scenery pull off frequently to let traffic pass
- Do not drive in convoy
- Remember local drivers have to lead a normal life and need to get past you!
